BLOGGED: Meeting Lee Min Ho for BENCH Clothing

Ever since I started being a fan of Kim Hyun Joong, I have admitted to myself that I am a certified FANGIRL of all things relating to Hyun Joong but not limited to Hyun Joong.

So when BENCH CLOTHING, a global clothing company from the Philippines got Korean superstars Siwon and Donghae from Super Junior, I also got excited! Its nice to see that Korean superstars also consider a brand from the Philippines. But I got even more excited when Lee Min Ho, yes, THE LEE MIN HO, Gu Jun Pyo of Boys Over Flowers is also one of the rosters of the many Global endorsers of Bench.

I wanted to be at his "FUNMEET" but I dont have enough resources to do so, so I just decided to just stalk him(yes, that's how you say it, fangirl way.LOL) at his Fan signing events. But thankfully, I was lucky enough to be invited at his press con, up close and personal!

I finally managed to see him this evening and I was not disappointed, he is handsome, just like I expected him to be. Quite loquacious too and you can expect to hear a few laughs from him too!

But dont worry my dear Kim Hyun Joong friends, of course, KHJ is still in my heart. But its not bad to appreciate another human being once in a while right? LOL. Dont ask me to compare them both because I wont ok? (wink!)

Having All The Reasons To SMILE... Because Of Kim Hyun Joong

Time flies so fast, that I didnt even remember today, July 16, marks the 2nd year since I first started blogging Anything, Everything About SS501's Magnetic Leader, Kim Hyun Joong. My... how time flies.

I cant even enumerate all the things that happened to me ever since I started making Kathy's Bench. Probably, the journey to reach my 2nd year was the most bumpy, but simply, the most fulfilling time for me. Who would have thought, my simple crush for Kim Hyun Joong, plus my avid loyalty to Playful Kiss, would get me this far... I must have been doing the right thing then.

I had never expected, even the slightest bit of it, that I would ever have the chance to follow Hyun Joong outside my country, more so, being a "jetsetter" for two Asia Fan Meetings as I never had the means to do so. More so, I had never expected,that Id be able to step on two countries in just a span of 2 weeks.

But, it always surprises me how great Kim Hyun Joong fans are generous enough to share their blessings and help me achieve what I had achieved, all because they say, I had done so much for them. Really, its still new to me when Hyun Joong fans say it to me, but really thank you.

My dear Unnie Yuki, My Unnie Christine, and Unnie Elsa... Thank you. I know I never had the chance to thank all three of you properly, but from the bottom of my heart, thank you. For trusting me...

I can go on and on about my experiences on the Asia Fan Meeting but that would be another post, and I hope I can find time to get inspired and find the right words to finally get the momentum to write about it.

To everyone who have been with me ever since Kathy's Bench had started and still believed me until now, thank you. I am not the only one who blogs about Kim Hyun Joong, but the mere fact that I still get great feedbacks from everyone, really makes me happy.

To some people who were there to irritate me from time to time, I thank you too. Cause on the process of trying to irritate me, through the years, I think I have learned when and when not to care. And seriously, it helped me mature.

To my Kbencher friends, thank you, for keeping up with my immature moments(most of the time!LOL) and for giving me so much joy and making me realize, that Friendship was the best perk of being a Kim Hyun Joong fan.

And lastly, Kim Hyun Joong, my inspiration for this blog. How I wish you can read this, but oh well...Thank you, for giving me so much. So much to be thankful and happy for. I can attest that you are more than just a pretty face, because, you may never know it, but you had changed my life completely.

As I always said,my love for you will be FOREVER. But dont worry, I dont even dream of being your girlfriend anymore. LOL. hehehe...

Happy Birthday to my baby, Kathy's Bench. I promise, Id do my very best to stay, as long as Kim Hyun Joong will always be here to stay.

I brought back the BANNER that best fitted(and probably got everyone curious) about the blog. Its Seung Jo on a bench on PK's Episode 14. It just brings back great memories... And makes me happy.^^

Being Kathy of KATHY's BENCH

When Peter Parker's (aka Spiderman) grandpa told him that WITH EVERY GREAT POWER COMES GREAT RESPONSIBILITY, he meant it really well, because, indeed, it is true. 

Before I started blogging, I use to be envious of people who know much of SS501, or more so of Kim Hyun Joong. And now, I am just amazed at how tables are easily turned, as I was expected of the same thing I was envious before.

This thought came into my mind since I was invited by Face Shop Philippines to their blogger event. As soon as I entered, everyone just kept on asking me where KHJ is(as they refer Hyun Joong of course) like I am his girlfriend or manager at that. Well, it would be less of a burden, and amazingly better if I was his girlfriend of course, LOL. But kidding aside, after being Kathy of KATHY's BENCH, I suddenly realized, after that day, that much was expected of me to know about Kim Hyun Joong.

Its not that I have never been asked the same question before the bloggers event. In fact, I was asked by many Kim Hyun Joong fans a lot of times already in my email or in my facebook a lot of times already. But I dont feel the big responsibility, since I enjoy reading some inspiring stories from you, my blog readers.

However, I also realized, that as a blogger of Kim Hyun Joong, much is expected of me, just as what was expected of Spiderman. So this is where the responsibility comes along.

As a blogger, some fans expect that I know much, to which, I have to humbly say, NO. Yes, I do blog about him, I may know a lot, but there still certain things I may still never know, especially his private life, to which, I am always sensitive about.

I wont brag about being a fan of Kim Hyun Joong since he started because I was not. I was not there ever since he started, but I believe I WAS THERE, AT THE RIGHT TIME. And because of that same reason, I felt like I was there since forever.

I feel humbled whenever some fans ask me about some things about Kim Hyun Joong because people trust me. But when it comes to his personal life, I can only know too much. At the end of the day, I am still fan.

Maybe I may know little, I may know much, but Im still his loyal fan, and unless he never talks about it, Id like to keep it within my zone. Just as what they say, LESS TALK LESS MISTAKES.

But what makes me happy more is when you, my blog readers, especially the new Kim Hyun Joong fans, share your passion for Kim Hyun joong and attribute my blog for that. Seriously it just inspires me a lot because I know what I am doing so far is right.

I use to ask or even doubt myself if until when I should blog about Kim Hyun Joong. But after all the great stories, people and events that happened in my life since then, I think Ill stay until Kim Hyun Joong chooses to stay. With all the plans he said, and being the hardworking man that he is, I guess that meant, FOREVER.

As I said on my last post/article, I will write many articles as long as I can since Im quite bored lately, so here is my second post! ^^

The very first Kim Hyun Joong photo I posted on this blog as Kathy's Bench. And its still my fave! 

Before you start to become very expectant of the answer to the title, let me warn you... You may be disappointed with the answer. LOL.


When I think about it, I cant believe its been almost two years since I started Kathy's Bench. As I always say, time really flies when you are having fun.


But reaching 3 million views after all this time was an even greater milestone for me so thank you so much Kbenchers for trusting me so much in feeding your Kim Hyun Joong cravings everyday.


As I always say on my previous posts(or even at daily posts where I just become emo,LOL), the blog really changed my life. I remember, when blogging started to become popular, I see stories on how blogging changed some bloggers life. I use to cringe, as I started doing MYSPACE before, but it never really changed anything.


But, I dont know if its pure curiosity or just plain "going with the flow" thing, I just started opening a blogger account, just because I had a GMAIL account. LOL.


When I started signing up for blogger, I really didnt know how what to write or what to post. The mere idea of sharing my thoughts on the blog was just not me, so there was a time I regretted opening one. First, I thought, what's the reason? Im a nobody anyways. Who would want to read my thoughts? And second, Im still a nursing student then, so I really didnt have any time. Nevertheless, I still posted from time to time, just for practice. And I remember posting only SS501 photos that I love. And that's it.


However, after studying and waiting for my board exam results(which took two months of waiting by the way), I got bored just by reading stuff online. And I even got super bored that time because there weren't really that much news of SS501, or more so, of Kim Hyun Joong at those times, since well,as we all know, after Hyun Joong left DSP at that time.


Then Kim Hyun Joong appeared suddenly on DATV via JUST THE WAY YOU ARE. Then suddenly, his curly KEYEAST photo came out, and I got overly excited. I just cant remember what got into me. But I just remembered having a blogger account, so I decided to make use of it, somehow. And presto. I started posting Kim Hyun Joong photos and articles one by one. Before I knew it, I was posting articles every day!


So how did KATHY's BENCH, the name, came about?


I use to get this question a lot of times before, and yes, until now, from the people who meet me. Honestly, when I answer them, I get disappointed. The reason for the name is really pretty lame, because Im also lame as I may say. LOL.


Seriously... I decided to put KATHY, my name, on the title, because I wanted it to be personal, or should I say I was really frustrated to use KATHY as my nickname since no one really called me that, until now? LOL.  But KATHY's BENCH wasnt really the first name of this blog. It was KATHY's HAVEN. But, as time went by, I felt like it was too mushy.Just like a light, it came into me that I should change it to BENCH,for a very simple reason; because people come together and sit on BENCHES to talk.


I warned you. It was lame right? LOL. Are you disappointed? Sadly, its the reason.


But who would have thought that the BENCH would take me this far? Well, I tell this to my friends, but I owe this success to PLAYFUL KISS. My blog just came in the right time when PK started airing. That's what makes me love PLAYFUL KISS more than any KHJ blogger you'll know. Its because I believe I owe my success to the show so much.


I Playful kiss my first ever FITTING banner the blog's name, Kathy's Bench, which, earned me a lot of good words on how my banner was perfectly fitted on my blog's name, and I didnt even have to photo shop it!

This is exactly the very first Kathy's bench I used. I didnt even dare remove the  watermark and the people behind.  It took even one of my kbencher friends to edit it for me! ^^ 

Oh! How I remember being all giddy when I read the first comments on my posts and on the chatbox. That meant a lot to me, since that time, I felt, for the first time, there are really people who cared about what I say.


When I first started posting, I never really thought Id do it for the long run. But then, when I got so much love and recognition as time passed by, I knew I was in it, until I can.


Now, what makes KATHY's BENCH, KATHY's BENCH stay is not merely by its name anymore but more so, because of Kim Hyun Joong. After all, its tagline, is "ANYTHING, EVERYTHING, ABOUT SS501'S MAGNETIC LEADER, KIM HYUN JOONG.

Getting Beautiful With Kim Hyun Joong

Since Hyun Joong is having his much deserved rest nowadays, I decided to write articles instead of waiting. And expect to see more articles from me from now on^^ Hope you'll enjoy.

Recently THE FACE SHOP just launched their new line of Spring Make up and I was lucky enough to be invited by FACE SHOP when they launched it. While being there, I just realized, I just know too little about getting beautiful.

In fact, if I havent attended the event, I would never know that when applying eye shadow should be from outside to inside not the other way around. I would never know that you need not open your mouth while you are applying mascara but instead, you can just put your mirror below your face. And worst, I would never know that BB cream meant BRUSHES BLEMISHES. That's how ignorant I was.

Growing up, I can attest to being ignorant in terms make ups and beauty stuff. I never really put too much attendtion to how I look like when I go out. My friends can attest that I can just go out putting a simple powder and that's all. Even lotions get expired in my cabinet because I dont really care too much about how I look.

Then came Hyun Joong being the endorser of THE FACE SHOP. I was just ecstatic to know at first that finally, Kim Hyun Joong will be the new face of THE FACE SHOP since... well...there will be a new attraction on malls. LOL. Kidding aside, my main happiness upon knowing that Hyun Joong is finally the endorser of THE FACE SHOP stemmed from the fact that I'll see more of his photos around. Definitely, I admit.. to being a FANGIRL. And I am not alone right?

And then finally came Kim Hyun Joong's big posters on THE FACE SHOP stores here. I cant remember how I reacted upon seeing those, but I remember how I was happy seeing the photos just by looking at the outside because I just cant drag myself to go inside. Im afraid Ill just scream. LOL.

I have to admit that one of the factors as to why I cant enter THE FACE SHOP stores at first was because Im afraid I cant buy the stuff they present. First, as I confessed, I dont care too much to how I look so my intitial reaction was, "FOR WHAT?" . And secondly, as an average citizen (which means I dont earn much.LOL) my initial mentality was buying a BB cream worth 1000 pesos(roughly 23 dollars) its just a waste of my precious money.

But here came Kim Hyun Joong's freebies with Face shop products. And of course because of my fangirl heart, even if I dont care about BB creams and all, I just cant forego the tempting poster that I need to have. So, I dragged my feet,along with my Kbencher friends, to THE FACE SHOP store to buy.

At first, I was decided to buy just lotions and other stuff. But i never intended to buy a single BB cream. Its just too much for me. But yet,after much convincing I still did. ALL FOR THE LOVE. And yes, I got myself so the POSTER, by the way, so...I AM HAPPY. LOL.

I am still innocent on make ups. Nothing changed. LOL. But using BB creams was such a revelation for me. It just made wonders for me. The first time I used BB creams, I was just amazed that a single stroke on my finger can do so much on my face. And it can stay the whole day. I always had this problem with the big black circle under my eyes ever since I was young, always mistaken as eye bags, but it isnt. Even if I sleep 24 hours, those circles are still there. So whenenver I go out, Its always a challenge to hide those. Not until I used such. Not saying this out of exaggeration. But its the truth.

If not for the bloggers event, I would not even have a makeover. Seriously, I felt bad coming to the event without any make up on. It was even after the event that I looked good. LOL. But I felt so happy with the result.

The Face Shop Philippine's SPRING TREND 2012 Collection. Its so good I assure you. Im not  a beauty expert but these when I used these, I was very very satisfied! Happy me! 

Well, im still not drop dead gorgeous and Im still not beauty smart. But thinking about it, it just amazes me that all I never wanted to try, beauty wise, I tried because Kim Hyun Joong says so. And Im proud to say that little by little, Im learning the basics of minding appearance, one at a time.

After all Kim Hyun Joong is the most beautiful man in our hearts, its also a must to be beautiful with him.
