Kim Hyun Joong signed contract with Keyeast last June. He immediately begun his acting career and even progressed to Japan, further establishing his spot as a famous hallyu star, taking over his boss Bae Yong Joon as the spokesperson for cosmetic brand THE FACE SHOP. Recently, also becoming the endorser for Lotte Duty Free which was previously endorsed by Bae Yong Joon, proving that Kim Hyun Joong is really favoured by his boss Bae Yong Joon.

Rumors has it that there are private conditions involved when Kim Hyun Joong signed with Keyeast, and that was “kim hyun joong needs to take on bae yong joon’s cf offers”. Regarding to this rumor, Keyeast officials mentioned during an interview “do we really have the power to ask the companies to use the people we suggested as their spokesperson? On March 14th, KEYEAST announced to the public that Bae Yong-joon and Kim Hyun-joongdonated money to Japan’s relief efforts. Yong-joon gave $890,000, while Hyun-joong graciously donated $71,000.

Yonsama urged the government to use his money to fund the basic necessities (including food and water). He is very concerned about the people. Hyun-joong admitted that his money wasn’t much, but he hopes his effort can aid the people in some way. The initial shock and heartbreaking news of the current situation after the earthquake and tsunami made the singer quickly run to their aid.

The damage and nuclear explosions that have taken place aches your heart. I truly commend these two celebrities for their willingness to give. In addition, the phrase Pray for Japan is truly needed.

Bae Yong Joon greatly influenced me to change my agent. People call me “Post Bae Yong Joon”. I like to hear that. I have to be similar to him, so I can be better than him. I wish I could be just half of him. I think I’m about 25% of him. Anyway, I think I look like him too.

A while ago when I visited China, a fan asked him if I was Bae Yong Joon. She requested my autograph but I refused. She insisted by saying that I was Bae Yong Joon and told me not to lie. I couldn’t take off my sunglasses and I felt pressured. Hwanhee joins Bae Yong-joon & Kim Hyun-joong for Miso Project “Message! to Asia”

Korean singer and actor Hwanhee will join actors Bae Yong-joon and Kim Hyun-joong for a Japanese project in December.

A press release from KEYEAST Friday announced that Hwanhee will take part in the first series of the “Miso Project,” set up by Japan’s Digital Adventure TV (DATV), titled “Message! to Asia” which will take place at the Tokyo Dome on December 14.

The “Miso Project,” which aims to help the future of children in Asia, is a contribution-based philanthropy project which with the help of non-profit organization KnK (Kokkyo naki Kodomotachi), they will donate money to underprivileged children in Cambodia and the Philippines.

“Message! to Asia” will feature a theme song written by famed Japanese producer Komuro Tetsuya as well as appearances by Japanese singer GACKT, Vanness Wu and opening performances by The Boss and SHU-I.

“Hwanhee has participated in various concerts to help support charities and he decided to join the ‘Miso Project’ after hearing about the cause,” an official from KEYEAST was quoted as saying.

Born Hwang Yoon-suk, Hwanhee made his debut in R&B duo Fly to the Sky with member Brian. They have released numerous albums and produced hit songs including “Sea of Love,” “Missing You” and “Gravity.”

In October 2009, he began his solo career and branched out into the small screen with roles in MBC’s “Over the Rainbow” and SBS’ “I Love You.” He recently released his second mini-album “H-hour” and is busy preparing for an upcoming weekly drama

2011 Keyeast Eco Calendar was sold out on-line shopping sites in Korean and Japan in one day..

The Eco Calendar that was produced by the Keyeast artists and Korean committee of UNEP sold out quickly right after the sales started through the domestic and foreign websites.

The Eco Calendar was made by the environmental production process with 100% environmental papers and vegetable soybean oil ink. It also functions as the eco diary, not only as a calendar.

This diary is the second environmental campaign of Keyeast since they donated their entire profits from the environmental photos last May. They also plan to donate their entire profits to the Global Environmental Program (GEP) of the Korean Committee of the United Environmental Plan (UNEP).

Keyeast said, “We were surprised of the speed of the sales, which was much quicker than what we had expected.”, and “We appreciate that many people showed their interests in the environmental issues and participated in it actively. We decided to produce additional calendars due to the high volume of demands both domestically and internationally.”
2011 Eco Calendar can be downloaded through the Korean and English version of the smart phone application domestically and worldwide, in October.

There was a rumor that Kim Hyun Joong made a remarkable improvement in popularity because of his leading role in the band SS501 and his previous drama “Boys over Flowers” both moved into the entertainment industry in Japan. That rumor turned out to be true. Recently, he made an exclusive contract with ‘Keyeast’ which is operated by Bae Yong Joon, and it’s said that he is getting more gifts in Keyeast than Yonsama. It’s the first time since the company was founded that Bae Yong Joon was not the leading receiver of gifts. However, Bae Yong Joon is happy that he was able to sign Kim Hyun Joong.

“Yong Joon hyeong (suehan: big brother) and I often chat about relationships with women while having drinks.”


Kim Hyun Joong was selected as the next generation Hallyu star since he became popular in the Asian market, including Japan. And then, the original Hallyu star Bae Yong Joon picked him around the time when his contract with his previous agency was about to expire sometime last June. He became Yonsama’s man. He considers Yonsama as his role model. I was wondering how he thinks about the president, Bae Yong Joon. He called Bae Yong Joon as “Yong Joon hyeong” without hesitation when he was asked about their relationship.
“Frankly I was nervous when I met him the first time. His power and status was so strong when he got out of his car. I thought I was looking at the demigods like the King or Zeus. He isn’t a type of person who goes around puffed up or shows off, but I might have felt intimidated by his name “Yonsama”. After we exchanged a few words, I realized that “Ah.. He is a human being like me”. Now I think of him as a brother in the neighborhood.”

Bae Yong Joon makes a mythical impression like he doesn’t get along with people or he refrains himself from the outside world. But it’s said that he is just not noticed. He is a busy bee and is comfortable with his friends.

There is a fourteen years age difference between the two of them. They communicate and get along very well even though their age difference represents that of an uncle – nephew relationship. Recently, Bae Yong Joon and he, only the two of them, have been together about two or three times a week. They chat comfortably about the usual life stories, not dramas or albums, while they drink a coffee and green tea.

Bae Yong Joon is a major shareholder of his agency; Kim Hyun Joong is a new face who Bae Yong Joon signed enthusiastically. In other words, they have a “president” and “a competent new employee” relationship. But Kim Hyun Joong said, “Looking at him from the side, Bae Yong Joon is easygoing, different than I had expected. He feels uncomfortable about the nickname which was given to him by the media. He becomes serious (?) by saying, “Don’t’ mess around with my name. Say my real name” when his friends make a telephone call and say “Hi, Yonsama”.
“I just call him Yong Joon hyeong. I can’t call him ‘the president’ or ‘Yonsama’. I can’t call him Ahjeossi (suehan; It means middle-aged man) either (laugh). I have a very comfortable relationship with him. We talk about our problems and we chat for hours easily. Sometimes, we get excited about pretty girls when we’re drinking. We talk about old girlfriends as well. We’re just like other men.”

He took over the cosmetic brand, ‘The Face Shop’, advertisement where Bae Yong Joon worked as a model. The photos and concepts of the advertisement give off a similar image that of Bae Yong Joon’s. This coming December, he will go to Japan with Bae Yong Joon for a stage appearance. It seems that his agency is operating ‘the little Yonsama project’ a bit intentionally. But Bae Yong Joon doesn’t coach him. “He doesn’t direct me to do this and that, every detail. I just watch him on the side and learn what I need from him when it is necessary.
Hyeong is very thorough in his self-management. He’s never shown a weak appearance to others. I try to take after his qualtiies. Aside from taking after him I think the expression of ‘Little Yonsama’ is too overestimated. I’ve never encountered the fans even after the events in Japan because I have only stayed in the hotel. So, I’m not sure whether I’m popular or not. Are you asking me why the fans like me? Hmm.. Because, I’m cute (laugh)”

KHJ didn’t get many offers from other companies, or any contacts except Keyeast.

The reason why he moved to Keyeast was to grow more as an actor and they guaranteed to support him as a singer as well. He added that he was going to rest this year, but Keyeast treats him very well and luckily, he was able to make a decision on this drama right way.

KHJ calls BYJ big brother at the informal meetings even though BYJ is the owner of the company. KHJ meets BYJ about 2 or 3 times a week and they don’t talk about work much, but ordinary stuff like the other men do such as their daily lives.

When they meet together, KHJ drinks a green tea, and BYJ drinks a coffee. Sometimes they drink an alcoholic beverage together and chat about his previous girl friend and other small stuff.

He shared the story about the first day when he met BYJ. His first impression when he saw BYJ getting off from his car was “He is Zeus”, but he realized that BYJ was a human being after they exchanged a few conversations. The more they talk; BYJ feels like a brother (suehan: real close friend) in the neighborhood to him.

KHJ said that BYJ’s reaction about the Mischievous Kiss was that he would visit the filming site some day.

Kim Hyun-joong joins Bae Yong-joon for Japanese project

Korean singer and actor Kim Hyun-joong will take part in a Japanese project with Hallyu star Bae Yong-joon, according to their agencyKEYEAST on Monday.

KEYEAST announced in a press release that Kim will be joining Bae for the “Miso Project,” aimed at helping the future of children in Asia, which was set up by Japan’s Digital Adventure TV (DATV). This will be the first official event that Kim and Bae will be attending together.

The first series of the "Miso Project" titled "Message! to Asia" will be held at the Tokyo Dome on December 14 with other stars in participation including Japanese singer GACKT and Vanness Wu.

The "Miso Project" is a contribution-based philanthropy project which with the help of non-profit organization KnK (Kokkyo naki Kodomotachi), they will donate the money to underprivileged children in Cambodia and the Philippines.

"The two stars have willingly agreed to take part in this long-term project to put smiles back on the faces of the children in Asia," an official from KEYEAST explained, adding that they are hoping more children find hope and happiness through this event.

Bae, 34, has made numerous donations to various organizations in Asia including 300 million won to the tsunami victims in 2005 as well as handing funds raised from an environment-themed photo spread to a UNEP committee.

Recently, the actor began delivering medical treatments for premature babies and newborns in various cities in Japan as well as making donations to other Asian countries.

Kim, 23, the leader of boy band SS501, signed an exclusive contract with KEYEAST in late June. He has done charity work with SS501 in the past where the group gave the proceeds from their concert to single mothers and families in the Philippines.

He has also participated in several campaigns and benefit concerts while members of his fan clubs have also made donations to different charities under the K-pop idol's name.

Kim is currently shooting the Korean adaptation of TV series "Itazura na Kiss," originally based on a popular Japanese comic, opposite Korean actress Jung So-min. The show will premiere on MBC on September 1.
