What's in a name? What meaning or secret does it hold for the bearer?Well, we are not talking about the inate mysticism of the name Rumpelstiltskin nor its meaning. This article focuses on the recent interview of JSM and the sweet name KHJ is calling her.According to JSM, KHJ is fond of calling her HANI, the female protagonist's name in the recently concluded Korean show entitled Playful Kiss where she played the lead role.

However , ardernt stalwarts of the famous love team (KHJ and JSM) are putting different phonetical and spelling twists for the word HANI. By pronounciation, the word HANI, short for OHANI, sounds more like the word HONEY, a term for endearment for somebody special! Even Wikepedia supports the term: Honey (English pronunciation: /ˈhʌni/)!Further, JSM mentioned in the same interview that KHJ and herself have become close friends since filming PK. But calling JSM , sweet Hani by KHJ? Maybe he also think that he is BSJ as well!

It can be recalled that in PK, JSM played the young wife and the love interest of the male lead character BSJ . It might be that the term "HANI" is a misnomer for the word, HONEY. Who knows?
Sometimes,(Korean ) ART (drama, e.g PK) can really imitate LIFE...

So there! Cheers everyone!

  3. It could just be habit like when Jihoo had been glued to HJ for a while .It took sometime for people to call him Hyun Joong again. In the Philippines HJ is still referred to as Jihoo up to now .Directors make them use their character names to deeply internalize the role .

  4. It was also noticed that during the "Goodbye SuengJo" event/fanmeet, Hyun Joong kept saying Hani instead of SoMin.

Sweet! Waiting for PK overseas promotion...

  5. I'm sure it's because he wanted to internalize the character and make it his own. I noticed he calls Won Hong Eunjo as well. However, he still refers to Si Young as Si Young instead of Heara.
Personally. I think Hani fits Min Min so well!

  7. If it was just her that he called by the character name then I would think something of it, but he calls several of them by the character name. He's called her O Hani or Hani from the very start. Still a cute idea though.

  9. Character internalization ends when the show ends. We all have proper names. But Hani?Come on! Could it be that he really means HONEY?Besides, during his WGM debut, he kept on calling his reality show partner- BABY!

  10. Huh? He never called Hwangbo baby. He called her Buin as in wife. If you saw a translation where he called her baby sorry to tell you but it was wrong! Also if you call someone by a name for months as in Hani it is a little hard to just change. The Hani/Honey idea is cute but not really realistic.
