Korean singer and actor Hwanhee will join actors Bae Yong-joon and Kim Hyun-joong for a Japanese project in December.
A press release from KEYEAST Friday announced that Hwanhee will take part in the first series of the “Miso Project,” set up by Japan’s Digital Adventure TV (DATV), titled “Message! to Asia” which will take place at the Tokyo Dome on December 14.
The “Miso Project,” which aims to help the future of children in Asia, is a contribution-based philanthropy project which with the help of non-profit organization KnK (Kokkyo naki Kodomotachi), they will donate money to underprivileged children in Cambodia and the Philippines.
“Message! to Asia” will feature a theme song written by famed Japanese producer Komuro Tetsuya as well as appearances by Japanese singer GACKT, Vanness Wu and opening performances by The Boss and SHU-I.
“Hwanhee has participated in various concerts to help support charities and he decided to join the ‘Miso Project’ after hearing about the cause,” an official from KEYEAST was quoted as saying.
Born Hwang Yoon-suk, Hwanhee made his debut in R&B duo Fly to the Sky with member Brian. They have released numerous albums and produced hit songs including “Sea of Love,” “Missing You” and “Gravity.”
In October 2009, he began his solo career and branched out into the small screen with roles in MBC’s “Over the Rainbow” and SBS’ “I Love You.” He recently released his second mini-album “H-hour” and is busy preparing for an upcoming weekly drama
